We're here to help you move forward

Life can be hard to navigate. Sometimes we get stuck.

Formation Counselling services is based in Bangor, Northern Ireland and we provide professional counselling services for individuals who are navigating change or challenge within their lives. Formation also provides supervision for counsellors working as individuals or in an organisation.

Through our counselling service we can help you find clarity around the events and influences that have shaped you, and empower you to bring about positive long term changes. Here at Formation we believe people all have the same inherent worth, that people can think for themselves, and therefore, are able to take responsibility for their decisions; and that people can change.

In short, we explore and understand your past and this can help navigate your present circumstances, so this can shape your future.

What we do and who we are

Counselling and Supervision

Counselling and Supervision

Counselling

Counselling is a process through which we can explore the issues in our lives in a safe and confidential environment. Whether you want to discover more about what makes you tick, are looking for help in navigating your relationships, or need to make sense of some past difficulties you’ve experienced – we can help.

Supervision

Supervision is a requirement for all counsellors if they are working with clients. Janine is a qualified supervisor and loves to sit with other counsellors so that together they can ensure they are reaching their full potential while working with clients. Not only does she love to do this but she also works ethically and professionally and can work alongside any organisation.

Janine

Counsellor and Supervisor
We all face times in our life that knock us down for a while but I believe as people we aren’t powerless in the face of adversity, change or challenge. With over 15 years of experience as a therapist and over 20 years of working in the community, I bring a wealth of experience in supporting people from a wide range of backgrounds through difficult life experiences.

I believe that sometimes we need support along the way no matter what has happened. As a counsellor I have seen and experienced the benefits of counselling; how it can give us the capacity to manage circumstances in our lives so they don’t paralyse us.

I hold a Level 5 Diploma in Childhood Sexual Abuse, Sexual Violence and Sexual Trauma. I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed approach, providing a safe and supportive space to explore difficult or painful experiences, understand how the past may be affecting the present, and work towards healing, greater self-awareness and meaningful change.

I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and Accredited Counsellor with NCS (National Counselling Society)

As a counsellor I provide a safe space for everyone no matter where you find yourself in life, yourself, relationships or stage.  I hope I would offer place for you to do this without the fear of being judged and time to remember who you are and how to understand a little bit of what is going on within you. I will do this by exploring together techniques to help you understand your past, your present and look towards the future.

I provide a professional counselling service for individuals who are navigating change or challenge within their lives.

Through counselling I can help you find clarity around the events and influences that have shaped you, and empower you to bring about positive long term changes.

In short, I can help you understand your past so you can shape your future.

If you feel this is your next step and you would like to explore further what counselling means for you and have someone walk alongside you please do contact me via email, text or phone call.

For counsellors looking for a supervisor :- I can provide supervision for counsellors working as individuals or in an organisation.
